Warren Theatre – Broken Arrow

At $20.9 million, this 18-plex art-deco inspired Hollywood Glam theatre is both the largest and most elaborate movie theatre in the country. Needham DBS provided design and detailing for the tilt-up panels. The tilt-up concrete was self-performed by Crossland Construction.

At 81’-2” wide, the load bearing spandrel panel clear spanning over the open lobby is the 4th widest panel on the TCA Top Ten list, and weighs over 133,000#. Due to the sheer size of the spandrel, the panel required a coordinated two-crane lift. With a 77’ clear span and 45’ bearing height, the panel required special bracing considerations for construction loads and erection sequencing. As an extension of the tilt-up design package, Needham DBS designed special lateral bracing towers to support the panel, allowing construction to proceed immediately.
