Needham DBS was selected by Crossland Construction as Engineer of Record and steel supplier for this 565,000sf manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters for Sioux Chief. Needham DBS designed, detailed, and supplied the turnkey structural steel package, including all miscellaneous steel items.
Needham DBS also provided precast wall panel design and produced shop drawings for Crossland’s in-house precast plant. By combining these two scopes of work, Needham DBS was able to improve structural efficiency and provide a fully integrated and coordinated structural package.
A 3D Revit Structure model was utilized throughout the design and detailing process, not only for coordination with the architect and MEP design team, but for transferring information directly to SDS/2 for steel detailing.
