Leipsic, Ohio

United States Steel Corporation and Kobe Steel, Inc, through their joint venture in PRO-TEC, will now supply the automotive industry with cold-rolled advanced high-strength steels and ultra-high-strength steels for certain automotive structural parts. The 450,000 SF Annealing Line Facility is a conventional steel and PEMB hybrid system. The 132-foot-tall high bay consists of fully conventional steel framing with laced columns and a 97-foot-wide roof truss and supports two levels of cranes, 50-Ton and 25-Ton. The remaining low bay consists of conventional steel columns and PEMB roof rafters. Additional 50-Ton top running bridge cranes and a 15-Ton under-hung crane were required for the low bay areas.

5000 Tons Conventional Steel Framing, 725 Tons PEMB Steel Framing, 600 Tons PEMB Secondary Framing, 800 Tons of Wall and Roof Sheeting. The structure was designed using the “Guide for the Design and Construction of Mill Buildings, AISE Technical Report No. 13” standard.4-plex
