This project was an early example of the power of the design-build approach to construction. Due to problems obtaining the original fabric roof structure, the owner had to make a last minute conversion to a steel system. Needham and Associates was awarded a design-detail contract in early January 1992 and steel fabrication started in February. The final steel erection finished only days before the opening performance by Guns N Roses in late May of 1992.
