Anchor Construction selected Needham DBS as their Design/Build partner for a 310,000 sf distribution center project. The facility is on a unique site with challenges including significant snow, elevated seismic criteria, and blast force consideration from a neighboring facility that processes rocket propellant materials. Included in the project are multiple mezzanines, a two-story office, hanging conveyor catwalks and other considerations for material conveyance and automated material handling. This hybrid system including insulated metal panel cladding is a fine choice for the needs of the facility while keeping the mass lowered to keep the seismic demand in check. Needham DBS supplied 450 tons of structural steel, 1200 tons of steel joists, girders, & deck, and 96,000sf of IMP to the project.
