Bethel College - Wellness Center
North Newton, KS
Our team delivered a 17,300 square foot, multipurpose wellness center designed to provide modern, accessible amenities including a fitness and cardio area with disability-accessible options, a full size gymnasium that can be set up for basketball, volleyball, or pickleball , a two-lane at ground walking and running track, a second floor weight room, locker rooms, and an entry lobby area for welcoming guests. The facility is structurally optimized for vibration control, long-span efficiency, and future adaptability.
The building uses conventional wide flange columns and wide flange rafters with light gage roof purlins and a standing seam roof. The walls use light gage wall girts spanning between columns with insulated metal panels. The second-floor weight room uses conventional steel beams and a concrete composite deck to help limit floor vibrations. Large areas of exposed curtain walls were incorporated into the exterior walls and entry for architectural impact and natural light.
